Inspired by Chris’ Secret Gift, the Chris Groom Memorial Fund is committed to making a difference in the lives of local children and families in need. Christmas Gifts & Donations
The holiday season holds a special place in our hearts, marked by our cherished tradition that brings joy to countless families. Every year, we unite with over 50 friends and family members for an extraordinary Toys-For-Tots shopping spree at Target. Our mission? To fill a moving truck with an array of gifts, including toys, bikes, scooters, books, and more. These precious donations are then delivered to the Bayleaf Fire Department in Raleigh, where they find their way into the homes and hearts of hundreds of families through the Toys-For-Tots program.

Meals for Vulnerable Children
At the Chris Groom Memorial Fund, we are dedicated to the well-being of children in our community. That’s why we proudly support the BackPack Buddies food program, which provides families with free groceries for weekends and school breaks. These carefully curated food backpacks contain healthy, easy-to-prepare options for kid-friendly meals. Working closely with local schools, Boys and Girls Clubs, and community centers, the program ensures that these backpacks reach the children who need them most.
Summer Camp Funding
Summer camps have the power to create lasting memories and enrich young lives, but the cost can be a barrier for many families. That’s why we proudly support the Send a Kid to Camp program, actively contributing to cover camp tuition and fees for children in need within our community. We take pride in opening doors to enriching summer experiences for children who may have never had access otherwise, helping them discover the joys of camp and endless possibilities for growth.
